Summary
The Bachelor of Nursing (Level 7) is the three-year degree qualification for those intending to become a registered nurse. After completing this degree, students sit the Nursing Council of New Zealand exam to complete their registration. There is high demand for nurses both in the Waikato, New Zealand-wide, and globally, and there are strong job outcomes for Wintec nursing graduates. 98% of Wintec nursing graduates from November 2018, are currently employed as Registered Nurses*.
What you'll learn
This degree includes the study of:

Students will learn their course material through lectures, tutorials, directed study, and nursing practice in a variety of settings, for example, community placements and hospitals. Students will be expected to complete a significant amount of self-driven study in addition to this.

Graduates will sit a Nursing Council of New Zealand registration exam to become a registered nurse.

Academic qualification equivalents
- Achieved an overall average of 65% in the Higher Secondary School Examination or All‐India Senior School Certificate with a minimum of 60% in English;
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5
- TOEFL : Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)
- PTE : score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
New Zealand Living Expenses
You'll require between $20,000 and $25,000 a year ($380–480 per week) for housing/rent, food, transportation, phone bills, internet usage, and entertainment, in addition to your tuition and insurance fees.
